The Bill Blackwood Law Enforcement Management Institute of Texas along with Project EnCriPT are hosting a tremendous training opportunity for environmental and law enforcement professionals. This course serves to provide an understanding of civil and criminal environmental enforcement for the law enforcement officer, regulatory specialist, code enforcer or other subject matter expert responsible for environmental concerns in their jurisdictions.

This course offers 22 hours of TCOLE credit!

Why Do I Need This Training?

This course serves to provide an understanding of civil and criminal environmental enforcement for the law enforcement officer, regulatory specialist, code enforcer or other subject matter expert responsible for environmental concerns in their jurisdictions. Classroom and field presentations regarding recognized and respected principles of investigation and safety serve to empower you to be more successful in your daily work, and enable you to safely traverse potential environmental crimes that involve hazardous chemicals and other dangerous risks.

Depending on the incident or conduct, enforcement may be carried out through administrative, civil or criminal means. It is generally unknown at the outset of a field investigation, response to an accident, or scheduled inspection what if any enforcement actions may be required and appropriate. There can be complex legal, regulatory and technical aspects of environmental enforcement cases which can only be overcome by working cohesively with all environmental enforcement partners.

This course emphasizes the standardized employment of proven techniques that assist in satisfying both the civil and criminal enforcement requirements, reducing costly legal issues and the potential of losing an enforcement case. The training provides the groundwork necessary for all involved with environmental concerns in their jurisdictions to work together using their combined talents to make solid cases that will be successfully concluded, regardless the enforcement venue.
